"Now there are a variety of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." 1Corinthians 12:4-7 |
Mission Statement The great ends of the church are the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance of divine worship; the preservation of the truth; the promotion of social righteousness; and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the World. A congregation of Presbyterian Church (USA) we affirm these great ends as set forth in the constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA) (see above) and we express our solidarity with those aims in our mission statement: As God’s children we are called to be caring and prayerful people, faithfully following Christ’s example:
Recognizing that our only sure comfort in life and death is that we belong to Jesus Christ, we accept this mission in furtherance of our baptismal vows, strengthened and nourished through communion with the Holy Spirit.
