Once a month the mission committee arranges a Saturday work project that can be completed in a couple of hours. We have participated with groups such as: Habitat for Humanity, Desmond Project, Raintree Children’s Services, Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services of Louisiana and Texas, The New Orleans Mission, and numerous others.
This month in March the church worked with the Lafitte Greenway to pick up trash along the green way and to make our amazing city look better. A special thanks to Charlene Berry, David and Susannah Burley and there son for representing Lakeview at this amazing event, Thank you!!!
In April Lakeview Presbyterian Church is having its next Handy Hands event!!! We will be driving up to Hammond to help victims of the flooding last August. There is still a very really need in that part of the state and going up to help for a day is the least we could do!
We are going to be working with the Fuller Center for Housing. The Fuller Center is a faith-driven and Christ-centered organization that promotes collaborative and innovative partnerships with individuals and organizations in an unrelenting quest to provide adequate shelter for all people in need worldwide. The Fuller Center in Hammond does most of its work with the people whose houses were flooded and destroyed in the flooding last August.
Join us in April at the Church parking lot and keep an eye out of more information in the coming weeks.
If you are interested in helping contract Patrick Long at firstname.lastname@example.org and he will be happy to get you signed up.
